Privacy Policy
Effective 15 October 2026
Skyrsoft Pty Ltd (“Skyrsoft”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is an Australian company providing subscription-based software to customers worldwide.
This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information in connection with our website, software subscriptions, licensing, activation and customer support.
Privacy contact: privacy@skyrsoft.app
1. Scope of this policy
Our software is self-hosted: customers install and operate it on infrastructure they select and control, on their own premises or in a cloud environment of their choice.
Four kinds of processing are involved, and this policy treats them separately:
- Information processed by Skyrsoft to administer subscriptions, issue licences, validate and activate installations, and provide support. This policy covers it. Skyrsoft determines the purposes and means of this processing and, where applicable law uses the terminology, acts as its controller.
- Information processed independently by Paddle, our authorised reseller and Merchant of Record for purchases through our website, or by another authorised reseller if you buy through one, for checkout, payment, billing, tax and their own legal obligations. Paddle and each such reseller act as independent controllers for that information (section 6).
- Website, network and analytics information processed through Cloudflare, which delivers and protects this website, carries requests to our licensing service, and provides our website analytics (sections 8 and 11).
- Information inside your own deployment. Certificates, private keys, credentials, managed-system configuration and the other data the software manages remain in your environment. They are not transmitted to Skyrsoft during ordinary licence validation, and you are responsible for that information, your hosting arrangements, access controls and any privacy obligations that apply to it.
Installing our software does not, by itself, give Skyrsoft general access to your environment. If you separately provide information or authorise access for support, section 2 explains how we use it.
2. Information we collect
We collect and maintain the following subscription and licensing information:
| Information | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Customer email address | Deliver licences, administer subscriptions and communicate about licensing or support matters. |
| Organisation name | Associate subscriptions and licences with the customer’s organisation. |
| Licensing request IP address | Record the source of activation and licence-check requests, and investigate licensing issues or suspected unauthorised use. |
| Number of licences held | Record the customer’s licence entitlement and manage activation limits. |
| Licence ID | Identify and validate a software licence. |
| Site ID | Associate a licence or activation with a particular customer installation. |
Organisation, licence and installation records may constitute personal information where they identify, or can be linked to, an individual.
What a licensed installation transmits
A Pro installation validates its licence against our licensing service. What each product sends is set out in clause 9(b) of its own End User Licence Agreement, and is also summarised below for transparency and consistency with the applicable EULA:
| Product | Sent to our licensing service |
|---|---|
| Skyrsoft CertOps | on each periodic check, a product identifier, a licence and site identifier, this installation’s instance identifier, an activation identifier and a single-use nonce; and on activation (when a licence key is applied), the licence key itself, which carries the licensee name and email address it was issued to, together with the installation’s hostname, operating system version and the Product’s own application version. |
| Skyrsoft Autologon Manager | on each periodic check, a product identifier, a licence and site identifier, this installation’s instance identifier (a one-way hash of the site identifier and the Windows machine identifier, not the machine identifier itself), an activation identifier and a single-use nonce; and on activation, which happens when a licence is applied and again each time the Product’s service starts after a normal shutdown, the licence key itself, which carries the licensee name and email address it was issued to, together with the installation’s hostname, operating system and the Product’s own application version. |
As with any network request, a validation also discloses the sending server’s IP address to our licensing service. Ordinary licence validation does not transmit managed certificates, private keys, credentials, the configuration of the systems you manage, managed-unit counts, diagnostic logs or error information. Licensing and offline operation describes how this behaves on a network that cannot reach us.
We also receive information you choose to provide when contacting us, and purchase or subscription information made available by Paddle, or by the authorised reseller you bought from, that is necessary to confirm your entitlement and administer your subscription.
Material you provide for support
If you voluntarily provide logs, screenshots, database extracts, configuration information or similar material for support, we use it only for purposes directly connected with your support request, the investigation of the issue, and related legal or security obligations. We retain it under section 10.
3. How we collect information
We collect information:
- Directly from you when you register with us, contact us, or otherwise provide information directly to Skyrsoft.
- From your software installation when it sends a licensing or activation request to our services.
- From Paddle in connection with your purchase and subscription.
- From an authorised reseller, if you buy through one, in connection with your purchase and licence.
Licensing and activation requests are used to administer your software entitlement. They are not used for advertising or behavioural marketing.
If information required for subscription licensing or activation is not provided, we may be unable to issue, activate or validate your licence.
4. How we use information
We use information to:
- Issue and deliver software licences.
- Confirm subscription status and licence entitlements.
- Process and track activation requests.
- Associate activations with customer installations.
- Manage licence quantities and activation limits.
- Identify and investigate unauthorised licence use.
- Resolve subscription, licensing and activation enquiries.
- Provide support you request.
- Meet applicable legal obligations and resolve disputes.
We do not use your personal information to send marketing emails, newsletters or promotional offers. Communications from Skyrsoft are limited to transactional, subscription, licensing, service and support matters.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
5. Legal grounds for processing
Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing, we rely on:
- Performance of a contract: where processing is necessary to provide a subscription or related service you have requested as an individual.
- Legitimate interests: to administer subscriptions purchased by organisations, maintain licensing security, prevent unauthorised use and respond to enquiries, where those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
- Legal obligations: where processing is necessary to comply with applicable law.
- Consent: where a particular activity requires your consent. You may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
6. Payments and subscriptions through Paddle
Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record and authorised reseller for purchases processed through its checkout. The Paddle entity you deal with is identified in Paddle's Buyer Terms.
Paddle collects and processes information for payment processing, subscription billing, invoicing, tax compliance, fraud prevention and related legal obligations. Depending on the transaction, this may include your name, contact details, billing address, payment information and technical information.
Payment card details are provided to Paddle or its payment service providers rather than to Skyrsoft’s licensing service.
Paddle acts as an independent controller for the personal information it processes for its own purposes. Its practices, international processing arrangements and privacy contact details are explained in the Paddle Privacy Policy.
If you buy through another authorised Skyrsoft reseller, that reseller collects and processes your purchase information under its own privacy policy, and gives us your name, organisation and email address and the details of your subscription so that we can issue and administer your licence. We may share information about your licence and its renewal with that reseller to administer your subscription.
7. When we disclose information
We may disclose relevant information to:
- Providers supporting our website, hosting, licensing services and transactional communications, where necessary to deliver those services.
- Paddle, where necessary to administer a purchase, subscription, refund or related enquiry.
- The authorised reseller you bought through, where necessary to administer your licence, its renewal or a related enquiry.
- Professional advisers where necessary for accounting, legal advice or resolving disputes.
- Authorities or other recipients where disclosure is required or authorised by applicable law.
Where providers process personal information on our behalf, we require appropriate confidentiality, security and use restrictions.
8. Where information is stored
Skyrsoft’s licensing service and the subscription and licensing data described in section 2 are hosted and stored in Australia. If you are located outside Australia, information you submit to those services is therefore processed in Australia.
This website is delivered through Cloudflare's global network, so a request for a page is usually handled at a location near you rather than in Australia. Website delivery and our Cloudflare Web Analytics (section 11) may therefore involve processing through Cloudflare infrastructure outside Australia, including in the United States. Requests from your installation to our licensing service also pass through Cloudflare's network on their way to our Australian servers.
Neither of these determines where information inside your own software installation is stored. That depends on your chosen deployment and hosting arrangements.
Paddle’s processing is separate from Skyrsoft’s Australian hosting arrangements. Paddle and its providers may process information in other countries, as described in Paddle’s privacy policy.
Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer or overseas disclosure for which Skyrsoft is responsible, we will implement the required safeguards. You can contact us for information about the arrangements applicable to your information.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the personal information we hold against misuse, loss, unauthorised access, alteration and disclosure.
Customers are responsible for securing their own software installations, infrastructure and administrative access.
10. Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for subscription administration, licensing, support, dispute resolution, accounting, legal and similar legitimate requirements. How long that is depends on the type of information, why it is held and any applicable legal requirement. Information is not retained indefinitely solely because you previously held a subscription.
When information is no longer required, we securely delete or de-identify it.
Paddle determines retention periods for information it holds independently under its own privacy policy and legal obligations.
11. Analytics and cookies
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, provided by Cloudflare, Inc., to understand how our website is used and to monitor website performance.
When a page is viewed, Cloudflare Web Analytics may collect information such as the page visited, referring page, browser type, operating system, device type, approximate country and website performance or page-load information.
Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies or local storage to collect analytics information and does not use fingerprinting to identify individual visitors or track them across websites. Skyrsoft receives analytics information in aggregated form and does not use Cloudflare Web Analytics to identify individual website visitors.
Cloudflare may process information in countries outside Australia, including the United States. Information processed by Cloudflare is subject to Cloudflare's applicable privacy and data protection arrangements.
We do not use Google Analytics.
Cloudflare or other infrastructure providers may separately process technical information that is necessary to deliver, secure and protect the website. This processing is distinct from our use of Cloudflare Web Analytics.
If we introduce additional analytics or tracking technologies in the future, we will update this policy before doing so and provide any notices or obtain any consent required by applicable law.
Paddle's checkout may use cookies or similar technologies under its own policies. The absence of Skyrsoft advertising or behavioural tracking does not prevent processing that is necessary for checkout, subscription licensing, activation, website security or delivery of our services.
12. Your privacy rights
Depending on your location and the laws that apply, you may have the right to:
- Request access to your personal information.
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request deletion of your information.
- Request restriction of certain processing.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Receive certain information in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
- Complain to a relevant privacy or data protection authority.
These rights are subject to applicable conditions and exceptions. For example, we may need to retain information to meet legal obligations or resolve a dispute.
To make a request, email privacy@skyrsoft.app. We may take proportionate steps to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.
If a request affects our ability to administer or validate your subscription, we will explain the consequences before taking action.
Requests concerning information held independently by Paddle, or by an authorised reseller, should be directed to them.
13. Privacy complaints
If you have a concern about how Skyrsoft handles personal information, contact privacy@skyrsoft.app with details of your concern. We will investigate and respond within the applicable legal timeframe.
You may also complain to the relevant privacy or data protection authority. In Australia, this is the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. Customers in other countries may have the right to complain to their local supervisory authority, including in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom.
You do not need to contact us first where applicable law allows you to complain directly to an authority.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to our services, information-handling practices or legal obligations.
The current version will be published on our website with its revision date. Where required by applicable law, we will provide additional notice of material changes or obtain consent.
