Skyrsoft Autologon Manager · Windows auto-logon management

Hands-free Windows logon, without a plain-text password in the registry.

Kiosks and unattended machines come back to a signed-in desktop after every reboot, and the password never sits on the box in plain text. The credential lives encrypted on a server you run, travels over mutual TLS, and rotates on a schedule you can audit.

In practice

Where Autologon Manager saves you time.

The screen that restarts to a login prompt

The problem

An update or a power cut reboots the signage screen, and someone has to go out and sign it in.

With Autologon Manager

The machine comes back signed in by itself, through a native Windows credential provider.

The password in the registry

The problem

Windows' built-in autologon keeps the password in the registry in plain text, and the security review flags it.

With Autologon Manager

The password is encrypted on your server, delivered over mutual TLS and cached on the machine encrypted. It's never written to the registry and never held in plain text.

The kiosk account nobody rotates

The problem

Changing it means retyping it on every machine, so it never changes.

With Autologon Manager

For AD accounts the server resets the password and pushes it out. For local accounts the agent resets it on its next check-in. Machines sign straight back in with the new one.

Kiosks on a timetable

The problem

Machines should be signed in for opening hours and logged off or locked afterwards.

With Autologon Manager

Weekly or one-off windows per group or machine, in the machine's own local time.

The whole fleet in one view

The problem

Checking a machine means walking to it.

With Autologon Manager

Status, groups and queued commands for every machine, and per-machine diagnostic logging when something needs looking at.

How it works

A credential provider, an agent, and your server.

An agent on each machine enrols with your server over mutual TLS and receives the auto-logon credential. At the logon screen, Autologon Manager's credential provider signs the machine in, and Windows' own AutoAdminLogon stays off. The health check reports that state, so you can see if the built-in mechanism has been switched back on.
