Skyrsoft CertOps · Certificate lifecycle management

Certificates that renew and redeploy themselves.

Issue, renew and deploy every certificate you run, public and private, from one console, to the servers and appliances that use them.

In practice

Where CertOps saves you time.

Shrinking lifetimes

The problem

Public certificates now last 200 days at most, falling to 100 in March 2027 and 47 in March 2029. Renewing by hand goes from a yearly chore to a monthly one.

With CertOps

CertOps gets public certificates over ACME from Let's Encrypt, ZeroSSL or Google Trust Services, renews each one ahead of expiry, and pushes it to where it's installed.

The Friday-night expiry

The problem

The certificate on your RD Gateway or AD FS server lapses, and remote staff can't connect.

With CertOps

CertOps renews it ahead of the threshold, deploys it to the RD Gateway or AD FS target, and its Verify step checks what the target is actually serving.

The renewal nobody wants to do

The problem

Renewing the certificate on a FortiGate, Kemp LoadMaster or Sophos Firewall means an export, a web UI and an evening. On Splunk it means editing web.conf and inputs.conf by hand, then restarting Splunk.

With CertOps

CertOps deploys through each product's own management API or CLI, inside a deployment window you set per target. For Splunk it connects over SSH or WinRM, backs up the current certificates, installs the new one for Splunk Web and the HTTP Event Collector, and restarts only what changed. There are 19 built-in target types, so there are no scripts to write, upload or maintain.

The script on the file share

The problem

The renewal script lives on a file share, runs as a scheduled task, and has an admin password in it.

With CertOps

For the 19 built-in target types there's no script at all: CertOps connects with credentials it stores encrypted and reuses across targets. PowerShell, SSH script and webhook targets remain for anything else.

WinRM after every renewal

The problem

Your WinRM HTTPS listener is bound to a certificate thumbprint. The certificate renews, the listener doesn't follow, and remote PowerShell breaks when the old one expires.

With CertOps

Tick "Enable WinRM HTTPS" on a device group. The agent sets up the listener on port 5986 with the host's certificate, enables the firewall rule, and re-binds it on every renewal.

Public and private, one list

The problem

Let's Encrypt for the internet-facing sites, an internal CA for everything else, and a spreadsheet to remember which is which.

With CertOps

Both live in one console, with one renewal schedule and one audit trail.

Beyond domain-joined Windows

The problem

Macs, Linux servers and appliances that sit outside the domain.

With CertOps

Agents for Windows and macOS enrol and renew on the host. SCEP, EST and the REST API (Pro) cover devices that can't run an agent.

Certificate Wi-Fi on the Macs

The problem

Your Windows machines join the certificate-secured Wi-Fi. The Macs need to as well, and the plan on the table is a Mac management subscription, bought for that one job.

With CertOps

Tick "Deliver a macOS configuration profile" on a device group and enter the SSID. The CertOps Mac agent installs the machine certificate, fetches the Wi-Fi profile and binds the certificate to the SSID. A local administrator approves the profile in System Settings; macOS requires a person to do that, so the install is not silent.

Signed scripts without sharing the key

The problem

Someone needs a PowerShell script signed, and the code-signing certificate lives on one admin's laptop.

With CertOps

Any signed-in user uploads the script. CertOps generates the key and certificate on the server, an Admin or Approver approves, and nobody handles a code-signing certificate or its private key.

How it works

From enrolment to deployment.

An agent on each Windows or macOS host generates the key pair on the machine and enrols against your internal CA; the private key never leaves the host. Public certificates come over ACME. CertOps renews ahead of expiry: agent certificates in place on the host, and the certificates it holds the key for pushed to the servers and appliances you've added as targets.

Apply the licence key in the console. The server activates it with one connection to our licensing service, and the limits rise on the installation you already run. One installation per licence key. If a subscription lapses, Pro keeps working for a 30-day grace period.

Before you hand anything a CA private key, read how CertOps protects what it holds and how it compares with AD CS. Every release is listed in the CertOps changelog.
